00:18:23 jurov: mircea_popescu: flush please

00:28:22 jurov: thanks

00:30:02 mircea_popescu: lol cool.

00:33:06 mircea_popescu: Gerard E. Lynch, southern new york kicks so much ass he will be hereby introduced into bitcoin's public record. he says :

00:33:13 mircea_popescu: The Agreement provides that in the event of termination, no party shall be liable beyond the specific liabilities imposed in the Agreement (i.e., the termination fee), except ?that no such termination shall relieve any party ? from any liability or damages resulting from the wilful and material breach ? by a party of any of its representations, warranties, covenants or agreements set forth in this Agreement.? (

00:33:14 mircea_popescu: Agreement ? 7.02; emphasis added). J&J argues that defendants? conduct was ?wilful.? Whether a factfinder could so find depends on the meaning of that term as it is used in the Agreement. While defendants argue that a breach is only willful if it is committed with malice or in bad faith, plaintiff [J&J] contends that ?wilful? merely means ?intentional.?

00:33:35 mircea_popescu: In support of their argument that the Agreement preserves liability only for malicious breaches, defendants argue that the word ?willful? would be unnecessary unless it meant ?malicious.? There is no reason to limit liability to breaches that are intentional, they claim, because any breach of this Agreement would be intentional??[h]eavily counseled parties to mega-mergers do not breach merger agreements out

00:33:35 mircea_popescu: of inadvertence, negligence, or mistake.? (Guidant/BSC Reply 5.) As a factual matter, this claim is questionable. It could just as well be said that heavily counseled parties to mega-mergers do not sign merger agreements containing glaringly ambiguous terms that lead to avoidable litigation?but here we are.

00:36:24 jurov: too dense text.. causes timeouts :D

00:38:40 jurov: "Your Honor, it was not malicious, just intentional"

00:40:48 Doctor_Andonuts: ThickAsThieves, you around? I got a question.

00:41:15 Doctor_Andonuts: n/m, I am dumb... i got it figured out

00:42:13 jurov: these lawyers... ThickAsThieves, is your intent malicious, neutral, benefactory or completely misguided?

00:50:15 mircea_popescu: jurov lol.

00:50:20 mircea_popescu: o look, tat's not around ?

00:50:26 mircea_popescu: i didn't know that can happen.

01:02:04 Vexual: Eventually, McAfee loses his cool. "You know, something went wrong. Fifteen years ago, I had some beautiful software and they took it over. I don't know what they did," he says in the video. "It was like the time I hired that Bangkok prostitute to do my taxes while he f*cked my accountant. It was terrible. The same f*cking thing is going on now."

01:03:21 mircea_popescu: lolwhat ?!

01:03:41 Vexual: mcafee don't ask his lawyers anything, he tells them

01:04:54 mircea_popescu: link or something ?

01:05:06 Vexual: http://mashable.com/2013/06/19/john-mcafee-uninstalls-software/

01:05:08 ozbot: John McAfee Shows How to Uninstall McAfee Software in Bizarre NSFW Video

01:05:31 Vexual: that cat knows how to belize

01:08:19 mircea_popescu: duide for real ?!

01:08:28 Vexual: real as real

01:10:17 mircea_popescu: i didn't know he had such a nice voice.

01:10:52 mircea_popescu: omg bartholomew is in the labcoin lab of coins!

01:10:58 mircea_popescu: i can see the chips hashing pot in the distance!

01:15:57 mircea_popescu: anyway. good that rich people are starting to use the system for what it's actually useful : lolz.

01:16:15 Vexual: :)

01:22:27 jurov: mircea_popescu: sadly the things you wanted to be in bitcoin record were censored, check the log and kick kakobrekla

01:22:56 kakobrekla: wha?

01:22:58 mircea_popescu: o the horror.

01:23:05 mircea_popescu: well no matter, i shall remedy by my own hand!@

01:23:24 kakobrekla: is this a good time to run?

01:23:49 jurov: bad time to ask

01:24:32 kakobrekla: its never a bad time to ask

01:27:35 bgupta: mircea_popescu: Would bbet consider allowing bets to close more than one week before the "resolution date"? I think if that change were made it might draw out more "long shot" bettors early in the process, that just get overwhelmed by late betters when that long-shot becomes more of the high-probability outcome. (My anecdotal observations, see late betters just bet big and screw the early bettors despite th

01:27:36 bgupta: weighting algo). e.g. - the predicted difficulty level by a certain date bets. BTW - good change in bbet FAQ today.

01:28:03 benkay_: good evening

01:28:07 jurov: yes i think it does, it can be chosen

01:28:13 jurov: good night

01:29:22 mircea_popescu: http://fraudsters.com/2013/our-emperor-deliver-us/

01:29:23 mircea_popescu: here we go.

01:29:24 ozbot: Our Emperor, deliver us. pe fraudsters - Un blog de Mircea Popescu.

01:29:40 mircea_popescu: bgupta possibly, if it has a zeroconf.

01:36:13 JWU42: so - maybe YABMC finally comes to bitfunder afterall

01:36:16 JWU42: ;)

01:36:25 ThickAsThieves: whats a zeroconf?

01:37:21 kakobrekla: wager on bet proposition

01:38:17 ThickAsThieves: ah

01:38:43 ThickAsThieves: but does the interface allow to choose such?

01:39:05 kakobrekla: http://bitbet.us/new/

01:39:09 ozbot: New BitBet

01:39:11 kakobrekla: PLACE YOUR BET ON:

01:39:11 kakobrekla: NO YES DON'T TAKE A SIDE

01:39:38 ThickAsThieves: sorry, not what i meant

01:39:39 mircea_popescu: you just put some btc on a side along with your bet,t hwere's an address there

01:39:41 kakobrekla: also tat, your rss is on

01:39:49 ThickAsThieves: my rss?

01:39:53 ThickAsThieves: oh

01:39:55 ThickAsThieves: the socket

01:39:57 ThickAsThieves: no

01:39:58 mircea_popescu: haha. it shall be known as tat.rss-pt

01:40:00 kakobrekla: um no

01:40:01 ThickAsThieves: i get it

01:40:03 ThickAsThieves: hehe

01:40:09 ThickAsThieves: the resolution rs

01:40:10 ThickAsThieves: s

01:40:13 ThickAsThieves: :)

01:40:16 mircea_popescu: also the closed/resolved headings are clickable

01:40:16 kakobrekla: you wanted resolved bets rrs iirc?

01:40:21 mircea_popescu: and lead to the search preset.

01:40:25 ThickAsThieves: wow

01:40:29 kakobrekla: rss*

01:40:33 ThickAsThieves: all teh updatez

01:40:37 ThickAsThieves: anywayu

01:40:41 ThickAsThieves: what i meant was

01:40:54 ThickAsThieves: bgupta asked about ending bets more than a week before resolution

01:41:00 mircea_popescu: yeah.

01:41:05 ThickAsThieves: i asked if interface allows that

01:41:22 ThickAsThieves: it stops at 7

01:41:28 mircea_popescu: 2 to 7 iirc.

01:41:32 Vexual: i do enjoy your writing mp

01:41:33 kakobrekla: what you thought it goes over 11?

01:41:46 ThickAsThieves: well thats what bgupta asked

01:41:47 kakobrekla: but on a serious note

01:41:54 kakobrekla: we didnt think more is needed at the time

01:41:57 ThickAsThieves: he wants custom bet close dare

01:42:00 ThickAsThieves: date*

01:42:04 ThickAsThieves: far from resolution

01:42:05 mircea_popescu: right now you could make a bet that resolves on the 29th

01:42:11 mircea_popescu: and bets close 2 days before resolution

01:42:12 kakobrekla: how far

01:42:20 ThickAsThieves: any amount

01:42:32 kakobrekla: any amount of far

01:42:37 ThickAsThieves: for eexample

01:42:42 mircea_popescu: i dun think i am following this

01:42:50 mircea_popescu: and how do you know what he wants in the first place ?!

01:42:56 ThickAsThieves: if you wannt bet that BTC/USD will be $500 before June 1 2014,

01:42:57 mircea_popescu: bgupta explain yourself! lol

01:43:03 ThickAsThieves: and close it Jan 1

01:43:12 ThickAsThieves: the point being

01:43:21 mircea_popescu: Vexual ty./

01:43:25 ThickAsThieves: the close it gets, the more weighting ruins early betters

01:43:32 ThickAsThieves: while people watch price slowly go up

01:43:37 kakobrekla: they want larger amount of far between closing time and resolution

01:43:39 mircea_popescu: you can set end weight to anything you wish, like 95k

01:43:50 ThickAsThieves: correct kako

01:44:12 mircea_popescu: and how does werighing ruin early bettors ?!

01:44:36 ThickAsThieves: well if no more bets are allowed, no more weight is lost

01:44:50 ThickAsThieves: we just wait for bet to resolve after a certain point

01:44:54 ThickAsThieves: rather than allow more

01:44:58 kakobrekla: i dont like too much bets stuck in 'closed' limbo , there has to be some limit to it, but i can see raising it

01:45:19 bgupta: mircea_popescu: well for example, any bet that resolves end of this year, betting can currently only close on xmas day. (or if the net resolves early.) e.g. XYZ will happen in 2013. If the probability of outcome changes drastically between the start of betting and the closing of betting, those that bet early on the low probility event kinda get screwed by people piling on one it looks more like a sure thing,

01:45:20 bgupta: despite the weighting.

01:45:26 mircea_popescu: ThickAsThieves i don't understand that at all.

01:46:01 bgupta: I'd say the compromise would be a minimum betting window.

01:46:07 mircea_popescu: bgupta let's be abstract here. the risk over time functional is probably not a polynomial, but something more c omplex, perhaps even discrete. the weight is linear. obviously these won't match

01:46:09 bgupta: say a month or so.

01:46:16 mircea_popescu: as in, the real risk over time will dip under or over

01:46:40 mircea_popescu: originally i had in the draft for this thing an ability for the bettor to introduce an arbitrary weigh curve, and the site to interpret that functional.

01:47:14 ThickAsThieves: i think it's overthinking it, and kako's comprmise might cover it

01:47:21 mircea_popescu: the problems were that this is not straightforward to do (as good notation is something maybe half the math grads understand, and wysiwyg notation of curves we don't have yet on computers, in spite of 50 years of efforts started at parc)

01:47:25 ThickAsThieves: just allow like 60 days or somesuch

01:47:37 mircea_popescu: you'll end up with one longass dropdown

01:48:15 benkay_: splines in photoshop are pretty good

01:48:24 benkay_: (most vector programs, iirc)

01:48:31 mircea_popescu: can you type that in cli style ?

01:48:51 mircea_popescu: or have bitbet come with matlab client lol

01:49:01 benkay_: solidworks lets you put in radii and coefficients

01:49:07 Ukyo: jcpham: hm, what do you want to foundation to do? :P

01:49:56 ThickAsThieves: while youre being so receptive, might i suggest bet escrow

01:50:19 ThickAsThieves: two guys talk shit, wanna make a bet? yeah let's make one on bitbet!

01:50:25 bgupta: Yeah you'd have the issue of a bunch of unresolved bets, but I think that could be dealt with on the UX side. (Custom weighting could help, but it doesn't solve the issue, it just means late bettors would have to bet even more, which could work I guess, but makes the math required, more conplex for users.)

01:50:29 mircea_popescu: on the grounds that there exists something more credible than me holding it, except we've not yet discovered it./

01:50:35 mircea_popescu: how do you propose to escrow ? mtgox ?

01:50:37 Doctor_Andonuts: Anyone know the best way to reach burnside? I have a google auth reset on my account (says it takes 30 days) so I cant move any of my shares around =(

01:50:51 Vexual: bottom of a bottle

01:50:57 mircea_popescu: Doctor_Andonuts i'd be surprised if you can reach him atm.

01:51:10 mircea_popescu: ThickAsThieves or you meant private bets ?

01:51:22 ThickAsThieves: man to man

01:51:32 ThickAsThieves: whether public can see is optional

01:51:33 mircea_popescu: we have some drafts of that being worked on.

01:51:39 ThickAsThieves: cool

01:51:43 Doctor_Andonuts: Yeah, thats what I am afraid of. I might have to wait the 30 days I guess?

01:51:47 mircea_popescu: it's a little more complex upon consideration than it seems, but i think something might come of it.

01:52:15 mircea_popescu: Doctor_Andonuts https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=126885.0 you could always post there...

01:52:22 ThickAsThieves: just have a wallet that waits for two predefined deposits, if one isnt filled, it gets refunded

01:52:34 ThickAsThieves: resolution is the hard part

01:52:36 ThickAsThieves: :)

01:53:00 bgupta: I'll add a +1 on the bet escrow idea, but I really want the feature to have bets close to new bets further out than 7 days before the resolution date. (Consider it a feature request, that I would use if implemented.)

01:53:10 mircea_popescu: more problems than that. suppose A wants to bet B that he has sex with C.

01:53:19 Doctor_Andonuts: Dang, the Activemining transfer time limit ends in a week and I can't get on my account because of google auth problems

01:53:38 mircea_popescu: bgupta oh i finally get what you mean. it's further IN than 7 days (ie, closer to the current date than the 7 days allow)

01:53:46 bgupta: YES

01:53:50 mircea_popescu: o i see.

01:54:10 mircea_popescu: kakobrekla do you suppose that dropdown could be replaced with a type-in field prepopulated with a default ?

01:54:20 mircea_popescu: and make it go now + 2 days bet close -2 days as limits

01:55:07 kakobrekla: hm ok

01:55:17 ThickAsThieves: of course the big request in the room is, bitbet naming it's own odds and hosting bets

01:55:28 ThickAsThieves: its*

01:55:49 mircea_popescu: why would the free market want to have a central planner ?

01:55:51 ThickAsThieves: and then tradeable bet shares

01:56:02 ThickAsThieves: this isnt the free market

01:56:03 mircea_popescu: o o i see, it's really "pls to give us free liqudity"

01:56:19 ThickAsThieves: it's entertainment or a service

01:56:45 Vexual: I want some of that A B C action

01:56:45 mircea_popescu: well, maybe the us tradition is to destroy the free market by repackaging it as entertainment or a service. but bitcoin is against that.

01:57:07 ThickAsThieves: maybe, but you'd make more money

01:57:26 mircea_popescu: i don't want to make more "money". i want to make actual money in an environment it's worth living in.

01:57:39 ThickAsThieves: one step at a time!

01:57:52 mircea_popescu: im a radical.

01:57:57 Vexual: lol

01:58:07 ThickAsThieves: THAT'S the word i was lookin for

01:58:23 ThickAsThieves: was trying to find a term for you in a conversation today

01:58:38 ThickAsThieves: asshole meanie, just isnt fair

01:58:53 mircea_popescu: vitriolically radical.

01:58:58 Vexual: ooh

01:59:09 benkay_: reactionary isn't half bad, but it's not the whole picture either

01:59:41 ThickAsThieves: surely there's a perfect school of philosphy that applies as well

01:59:55 Vexual: life?

02:00:11 ThickAsThieves: nah like existentialism or such

02:00:46 ThickAsThieves: WAY of life, not just life

02:01:01 ThickAsThieves: that's called buddhism :)

02:01:53 Vexual: how does marx read with bitcoin in mind?

02:02:55 mircea_popescu: Vexual poorly.

02:03:35 Vexual: :) i havent attempted it

02:03:46 ThickAsThieves: maybe one day we'll have popescuism

02:04:20 mircea_popescu: sounds awful doesn't it.

02:04:39 mircea_popescu: besides, there's no sartreism either.

02:04:41 ThickAsThieves: i can live with it

02:04:56 benkay_: it's a realistic view of the world rooted in lots of study and experiencing the transition from communism with an intact brain

02:05:30 ThickAsThieves: 314 btct.co related emails so far today...

02:05:55 mircea_popescu: i tend to agree. people especially sheltered/bored english speakers managed to miss out on a lot of otherwise illuminating and instructive experience./

02:06:09 mircea_popescu: ThickAsThieves "you are ill equipped to interact straight..."

02:06:36 mircea_popescu: to be fair, i got some mail on the topic too. a few people wanting to know if i hitch seat rates again.

02:07:06 ThickAsThieves: mine were asked for

02:07:12 ThickAsThieves: to be fair

02:07:20 mircea_popescu: a

02:07:35 ThickAsThieves: BTCOxygen leo is looking for you

02:07:43 ThickAsThieves: yer in trouuuuuuuble

02:07:58 mircea_popescu: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BU40U9wCAAEuMvE.jpg:large

02:08:06 mircea_popescu: i remember the days hillary was kinda pretty.

02:08:13 mircea_popescu: i guess im fucking old.

02:08:17 ThickAsThieves: lol

02:08:28 Vexual: hillary had monica 1st

02:08:31 ThickAsThieves: the daughter was on jon stewart

02:08:38 ThickAsThieves: Chelsea

02:08:38 VanCleef: hill dawg

02:08:44 ThickAsThieves: she's tough to look at

02:08:47 ThickAsThieves: nice hair though...

02:09:15 Vexual: wow

02:09:23 ThickAsThieves: hilary was def cuter than clesea

02:09:26 mircea_popescu: she's got that golden retriever look in her eye

02:09:27 ThickAsThieves: chelsea*

02:09:30 mircea_popescu: makes great women.

02:09:39 Vexual: a golden retriever that REALLY wants the ball

02:10:05 mircea_popescu: yeah

02:10:20 ThickAsThieves: has knc shipped yet or what?

02:10:21 Vexual: love dem gogetters

02:10:24 mircea_popescu: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=300430.msg3220655#msg3220655

02:10:32 ozbot: Are Bitcoin securities Legal?

02:10:44 VanCleef: no

02:10:47 mircea_popescu: amazing question.

02:10:55 the20year3: Michelle filing for divorce again?

02:11:01 bgupta: mircea_popescu: This is an extreme example, and not the bet I want to propose but one example of such a bet would be: "btc/usd will trade above 1000 USD on XYZ exchange before the end of 2014" and have that bet close for betting Jan 1st 2014. Currently betting yes on that might be considered a bit of a long shot. But if btc came close to trading near 1000 USD any time before Dec 24th 2014, folks would pile o

02:11:02 bgupta: YES, and then the early bettors would have their winning majorly diluted.

02:11:14 bgupta: Another example would be structuring a sports bet that closes for betting at the beginning of a season, but resolves at the end of a season. I think enabling these kinds of bets would bring in more betters, at the cost of holding onto their btc for a long time, and dealing with a potentially large book of unresolved bets.

02:11:56 the20year3: interesting

02:11:59 ThickAsThieves: the only issue i see

02:12:01 mircea_popescu: the sports example makes plenty of sense.

02:12:03 ThickAsThieves: is that bet volume is low

02:12:14 mircea_popescu: the other one has even odds to work eiother way. i say this from experience :

02:12:21 ThickAsThieves: so you wait months to get your .2 btc back

02:12:26 mircea_popescu: people pile on whether it is advantageous or disadvantageous to them

02:12:46 mircea_popescu: ThickAsThieves here's the thing : even longshot bets provide better interest than what you can get on reasonable loans

02:12:49 mircea_popescu: and for much less risk.

02:13:02 ThickAsThieves: i suppose

02:13:06 mircea_popescu: people just need to get used to the fact that this game has a longer timeline than a few months.

02:13:30 ThickAsThieves: hard to feel that way with new drama every 2 weeks

02:13:40 Vexual: my online bookie rounds up winnings on 1c bets

02:13:57 ThickAsThieves: but i get it

02:13:58 mircea_popescu: well.. i'm patient apparently.

02:14:02 ThickAsThieves: you wanna be the rock

02:14:03 the20year3: the btc crowd is shortsighted? me shocked

02:14:07 Vexual: 1.5 becomes 2 and they pay out 87% on average

02:14:10 mircea_popescu: still, a 20% locked in interest over 100 btc for a year is a great deal.

02:14:19 mircea_popescu: if you can trust the issuer.

02:14:20 the20year3: Yes

02:14:34 mircea_popescu: on the other hand, 7% a week is a bad deal.

02:14:43 mircea_popescu: even if you do make 7% a few weeks.

02:14:43 the20year3: Who has 7%/wk?

02:14:47 bgupta: heh

02:14:50 mircea_popescu: the20year1 old history.

02:17:20 kakobrekla: http://bitbet.us/new/ <- almost arbitrary betting ending time setting possible nao

02:17:23 ozbot: New BitBet

02:18:04 bgupta: do the "new bets" show up on "old bitbet"?

02:18:29 mircea_popescu: bgupta uh ?!

02:19:05 bgupta: ah sorry

02:27:18 Vexual: fighter jets buzzing hard here

02:29:10 the20year3: where is here?

02:29:13 the20year3: kenya?

02:29:19 Vexual: australia

02:29:29 the20year3: Maybe chinese trawlers?

02:29:33 Vexual: superhornet, its the iphone 5 of warfare

02:29:42 mircea_popescu: i didn't know jets grew in australia

02:29:43 the20year3: At least for countries that have money

02:29:45 mircea_popescu: is it some kind of spider ?

02:29:58 the20year3: it's a relatively decent aircraft

02:30:20 mircea_popescu: you don't mean the light aircraft do you ? :D

02:30:28 Graet: we import jets

02:30:31 the20year3: It's a all-purpose aircraft

02:30:32 Vexual: no theyre prettyy much the business

02:30:45 the20year3: Austraila doesn't have any domestic military jets that I'm aware of

02:30:46 Vexual: we bought about 20 from the yanks

02:30:58 Graet: esier to buy than develop

02:31:02 mircea_popescu: there was this ultralight kit you could buy

02:31:19 the20year3: Aircraft development is getting more and more bloated

02:31:22 the20year3: Look at the F35 :(

02:31:27 Vexual: are yo mechanically minded mp?

02:31:38 mircea_popescu: what's that mean ?

02:31:43 mircea_popescu: i would hope im organically minded.

02:31:48 Vexual: could you build a plane?

02:31:54 Vexual: yes

02:31:55 mircea_popescu: in principle.

02:32:06 mircea_popescu: well... a kit wtf. its made to be easy.

02:32:11 Vexual: aircarft are pretty cool

02:33:48 Vexual: ive hard a low altitue superhornet on the edge of sound

02:33:49 benkay_: but a jet?

02:33:52 benkay_: i want a jety.

02:33:55 Vexual: *heard

02:33:58 benkay_: jet*

02:34:07 Vexual: those thongs dont even need guns

02:34:07 benkay_: i don't want a jet so much as to fly one briefly

02:34:38 benkay_: anyways jets are doomed

02:34:47 kakobrekla: arent we all

02:34:48 benkay_: clog the intakes with disposable smart rockets

02:35:07 the20year3: how are they doomed?

02:35:07 benkay_: slash mini jets

02:35:15 benkay_: cost horrendous amounts of money

02:35:19 mircea_popescu: so ?

02:35:25 the20year3: And have lower maintenence than props

02:35:28 Vexual: a prop plane is fast enough

02:35:35 benkay_: sorry, jets in current form

02:35:37 the20year3: and more expensive in the long run for larger haulers

02:35:42 benkay_: huge thing carrying a human

02:35:47 Vexual: unless you want to scare the shit out of people

02:35:49 benkay_: moronic idea

02:35:49 mircea_popescu: well everything in its current form is doomed

02:35:55 the20year3: huge thing carying international cargo that needs to be there quickly

02:36:14 benkay_: in the context of air space control, i believe the context was the20year3

02:36:28 mircea_popescu: anyway, yes drones will take over ww2 style fighter jetsd

02:36:54 the20year3: Military? Possibly, but the problem with drones is that if there's a GPS or general satellite failure the entire fleet is screwed

02:36:54 mircea_popescu: for the same reason nobody played invaders while physically located in the little ship

02:36:57 benkay_: and make neat inroads on urban territory control too

02:37:08 benkay_: nah we just don't have good local mapping yet

02:37:13 the20year3: With decent resources (nation state) you could wipe out the entire US drone fleet in the course of 4-5 hours at a cost of $250m or less

02:37:18 mircea_popescu: the20year3 a drone doesn't HAVE to fly gps.

02:37:41 the20year3: Sure, they can use INS, but it's not nearly as good as GPS, and almost everything now is GPS guided

02:37:46 benkay_: *sigh*

02:37:49 benkay_: no vision.

02:37:50 mircea_popescu: not what i meant.

02:38:02 benkay_: SLAM my friend the20year3

02:38:03 mircea_popescu: eventually memory will get small enough you can have a mn sq miles of detailed map in the thing

02:38:08 mircea_popescu: it just pilots like humans do.

02:38:09 the20year3: The US is pulling most of our LGBs out of service and replacing them with Jdams which become pretty poor weapons after GPS failure

02:38:18 benkay_: simultaneous location and mapping

02:38:27 the20year3: What drone is capable of firing a slam?

02:38:34 benkay_: derp a slam

02:38:43 benkay_: slam is a navigation technique

02:38:47 benkay_: involving mapping

02:38:49 benkay_: and locating

02:38:52 benkay_: simultanously

02:39:07 the20year3: i thought you were talking about the AGM84E :D

02:39:27 benkay_: anyways

02:39:36 benkay_: there's lots of room for improvement there

02:39:49 benkay_: involving multiple sensing nodes and a distributed mapping whatever

02:39:53 the20year3: Sure, granted the system the US has in place now is pretty awesome...........But the problem is , it's still easy to knock out the US data systems

02:40:11 the20year3: Heck the terrain mapping systems we had in the 70s were amazing too

02:40:33 Vexual: an old cessan and a genious mechanic is the best way to get into aircraft, get the one with the back seat

02:40:37 the20year3: But, my biggest worry is that we're building a managot line in the sky with drones & GPS

02:40:58 mircea_popescu: lol the harpoon thing ? that's like half a ton

02:41:15 mircea_popescu: the20year3 maginot.

02:41:24 the20year3: oops

02:41:36 Vexual: an aircraft mechanic is like a tatoo artist, if you're gonna go there, do it right

02:41:55 benkay_: bunkers are somewhat immovable yes

02:42:07 benkay_: and the us military actually lacks the vision to build tomorrow's armed force

02:42:21 benkay_: i think i would be an excellent armsmith

02:42:41 benkay_: maybe when things deteriorate properly here i'll move down to ars and build out mp's robo-stockade

02:42:55 mircea_popescu: well that'd definitely be a fun thing

02:43:02 benkay_: now that btctc's dead i can't ipo a robo defense platform after all :(

02:43:06 the20year3: ars?

02:43:06 mircea_popescu: the desktop pewpewpewer

02:43:14 benkay_: yeah man

02:43:16 benkay_: any day

02:43:21 benkay_: not going to romania

02:43:30 the20year3: It's extremely difficult to produce quality arms in the US , unless you grease pockets the right way you can't develop

02:43:37 the20year3: I'm not sure what ars means

02:43:41 benkay_: would build that for the room and board

02:44:41 mircea_popescu: well you'd probably need very finely machined parts

02:44:50 Vexual: chicks dig planes

02:44:59 mircea_popescu: but i'd definitely ipo a corp that i judged had a serious shot at making it

02:45:55 benkay_: i think i'd go for cheap parts actually

02:46:14 Vexual: are you talking about making uns?

02:46:17 benkay_: and selectively buy the right ones

02:46:22 benkay_: not guns specifically

02:46:22 mircea_popescu: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-526655/Introducing-worlds-smallest-gun-fires-deadly-300mph-bullets--just-TWO-inches-long.html

02:46:25 ozbot: Introducing the world's smallest gun that fires deadly 300mph bullets - but is just TWO inches long

02:46:27 mircea_popescu: small bore guns have been made

02:46:42 benkay_: yup :)

02:46:47 mircea_popescu: Vexual http://fraudsters.com/2013/since-you-boys-are-printing-tanks-now/

02:46:47 benkay_: 3d printing is a thing

02:47:11 the20year3: 300mph? lol

02:47:11 kakobrekla: lol what a giant hand

02:47:54 Vexual: make food, you'll make more money and feel better about it

02:48:02 the20year3: 300mph is barely enough to break your skin

02:48:34 benkay_: fuck making more food

02:48:39 benkay_: more food is the problem with this planet

02:48:46 kakobrekla: well the needle doenst have to go 300 to break your skin

02:48:47 benkay_: too many goddamn people thriving on too many cheap calories

02:48:52 Vexual: good food

02:48:58 benkay_: hm

02:48:59 the20year3: There isn't a food problem in the world, there's a corrupt government destroying agriculture problem though

02:49:01 benkay_: doesn't scale well

02:49:12 Vexual: dont need to scale

02:49:27 benkay_: for your requirements

02:49:31 benkay_: i have someone who does that

02:49:47 mircea_popescu: the20year3 http://fraudsters.com/2013/the-corn-thing/

02:50:31 [\]: 3.2 for asicminer?

02:50:37 Vexual: yep hit it

02:50:39 [\]: wasnt it just at 1.3 or something?

02:51:04 mircea_popescu: [\\\] it varies.

02:51:10 [\]: obviously

02:51:13 Vexual: snooze you loose

02:51:14 bgupta: option exercise perhaps?

02:51:57 the20year3: Meh

02:52:17 the20year3: Is the author of that article suggesting we replace agricultural products with synthetic foodstuffs?

02:53:37 mircea_popescu: the author is pointing out that the replacement is hardly optional.

02:54:32 Vexual: there will always be a market for quality

02:54:40 the20year3: Correct

02:55:13 mircea_popescu: this is true, in the sense there's currently a market for child sex slaves.

02:55:16 the20year3: vitro meat looks interesting

02:55:58 the20year3: But, so does some of the new ultra productive crop variations

02:56:18 Vexual: im not excluding large scale agriculture

02:56:59 Vexual: best practice is currently relatively simple

02:57:10 Vexual: this wont stay the same

02:57:24 mircea_popescu: by the time chem inc is done with it, large scale agriculture stands with agriculture roughly in the relation diocletian's republic stood with the republic.

02:57:30 mircea_popescu: sort of like furniture improved by termites.

02:57:47 the20year3: We'll see

03:00:55 benkay_: you actually want more humans, the20year3?

03:01:15 the20year3: On earth?

03:01:34 benkay_: yeah

03:01:41 the20year3: Doesn't bother me either way

03:02:21 the20year3: Although i'd be happier if the median living standard of the average person in the world was higher than it is today. And from what I figure that can only be accomplished with educating people on a worldwise basis of how to be productive

03:02:35 Vexual: wrong

03:02:43 benkay_: how do, Vexual?

03:03:02 mircea_popescu: nah, the living standards are much too high.

03:03:06 benkay_: whaddaya mean?

03:03:09 Vexual: theres history of people going into third world countries and teaching best practice

03:03:10 kakobrekla: its not smarter people we need its smarter robots

03:03:16 mircea_popescu: ideally about half the population should experience hunger outside of their own control a day a week.

03:03:52 the20year3: do you regularly do that mircea_popescu

03:03:53 mircea_popescu: currently this is less than a tenth.

03:03:59 Vexual: hey heres a new variety we made, and put some charcoal on your crop, cya!

03:04:02 mircea_popescu: the20year3 "the" ?

03:04:13 mircea_popescu: i mean that lol. what that ?

03:04:26 Vexual: 20 generations of knowledge fucked uot the window

03:04:30 the20year3: do you regularly experience hunger beyond your control

03:04:47 Vexual: i do

03:04:47 mircea_popescu: this is specifically to directly and clearly enforce their inferiority to me and my superiority to them.

03:04:58 mircea_popescu: it's not a "we're all the same", quite the contrary. we are unlike.

03:05:13 Vexual: everyman can feel hungry

03:05:16 the20year3: What do you base this on?

03:05:41 mircea_popescu: the20year3 i don't base it on anything. challenging it should be based on things.

03:05:45 mircea_popescu: many many things.

03:06:06 mircea_popescu: Vexual sure, they can. some should. not all ever will. hierarchy, thus happiness.

03:06:23 Vexual: i dont eat and walk far just to feel human

03:06:24 benkay_: human rights are bullshit

03:06:29 benkay_: fabrications

03:06:32 jcpham: jesus heals though

03:06:34 benkay_: the only reality is power

03:06:39 mircea_popescu: human rights exist against the state, not against nature.

03:07:10 the20year3: Vexual: which examples are you referring to?

03:07:22 Vexual: whit regards to what?

03:07:32 the20year3: 20 generations of knowledge out the window

03:07:37 Vexual: africa

03:07:47 mircea_popescu: probably all he actual agricultural knowledge, fucked by superior industrial methods.

03:07:49 the20year3: In regards to what , colonial knowledge?

03:07:56 Vexual: think hard before you donate to any charity

03:07:59 mircea_popescu: and for the record europe's no different.

03:08:00 the20year3: mircea_popescu: how many farms do you deal with?

03:08:08 mircea_popescu: what's "deal with" mean ?

03:08:18 the20year3: Personally interacting with farmers and land

03:08:26 mircea_popescu: i dunno, a dozen or two ?

03:08:32 Vexual: you in ag?

03:08:33 mircea_popescu: something like that depending how you define it.

03:08:38 mircea_popescu: nope. i just eat healthy.

03:08:46 the20year3: Because locally i'm seeing trends towards farm automation

03:08:57 mircea_popescu: for instance yest i made a pot of beans out of a leg of pork smoked the classical way.

03:08:59 the20year3: Automatic harvesting of crops, and the like, making it significantly more efficient and effective

03:09:15 the20year3: Why aren't you consuming a diet of pure chemicals?

03:09:17 mircea_popescu: it does, sure. but i don't care, i have money and i don't believe in feeding everyone.

03:09:32 mircea_popescu: the20year3 im not the guy comparing prices in asda you realise ?

03:09:44 mircea_popescu: that doesn't change the fact that "20p cheaper" is actually a criteria directing lives.

03:10:09 the20year3: For some yes, but not everyone is price driven

03:10:30 mircea_popescu: your argument runs into the very ample majority of price argumentation in the fcmg sector.

03:10:45 mircea_popescu: fmcg*

03:11:17 the20year3: If FMCG was entirely price dictated, there would be no premium products or brands

03:11:40 mircea_popescu: but the argument is not to entirely, the argument is to majority.

03:12:00 the20year3: That the majority of people choose price over performance?

03:12:26 mircea_popescu: most people buy by price, with tiny fluctuation restructuring their consumption. this pushes producers to control costs, which leads to substitution, of actual ingredients with chemically derived erszatz.

03:12:39 the20year3: If that was true, Faygo and commercial grade beef would be king in the US

03:12:55 mircea_popescu: so therefore, as an economic agent, if you can replace the nicely smoked leg of pork with some pink goop, you have to.

03:12:56 the20year3: But , last time I checked ,faygo did a fraction of what Pepsi and Coca-cola do

03:13:09 mircea_popescu: the us is a 300mn market in a 8bn ocean.

03:13:38 mircea_popescu: and i don't grok the pepsi notion. you can't be telling me pepsi is anything but "the cheapest drink we can make" ?

03:13:51 the20year3: it's about 5x the price of budget drinks in the US

03:13:57 benkay_: tee.

03:13:59 mircea_popescu: that changes nothing.

03:14:05 benkay_: soda is the new beer

03:14:11 benkay_: obesity is the new mass drunkenness

03:14:25 mircea_popescu: well beer is really the new soda, by now they're no longer even fermenting it. just flavouring soda with "beer".

03:14:39 benkay_: in some places i suppose

03:14:45 the20year3: Good thing the rest of the world is catching up to us here in the US

03:14:50 benkay_: actually for everyone i guess

03:14:53 the20year3: (In terms of obesity)

03:15:07 benkay_: obvious effect of feeding the world on liquid corn

03:15:07 mircea_popescu: did yousee that article showing animals catching up to ? marmosets etc ?

03:15:20 benkay_: mircea_popescu: wat

03:15:35 mircea_popescu: ;;google obesity marmoset rats

03:15:46 mircea_popescu: the last one

03:16:41 Vexual: im off to buy one cocked chicken, comprising of one chicken, and six bottles of beer comprising water, 18 grains of barley and an amount of sugar

03:17:04 the20year3: Maybe I can buy that new liquid drink that can sustain life for $9 a day

03:17:30 benkay_: pump the environment full of estrogen-like plastic byproducts

03:17:33 benkay_: what could go wrong

03:17:34 mircea_popescu: cocked ?!

03:17:51 benkay_: spatch cocked?

03:18:17 mircea_popescu: in othere news, "British Child Sex Slave, 11, had her butt branded with an ?M? for Mohammed, her Muslim captor"

03:21:22 VanCleef: dont be sick in the head

03:22:53 mircea_popescu: hey, it's the daily mail.

03:28:45 the20year3: `sex slavery is extraordinarily popular

03:29:16 mircea_popescu: apparently it's a muslim thing.

03:29:22 the20year3: Nope, it's a worldwide thing

03:30:01 the20year3: Although i haven't seen any societial/religious breakdowns, the stats I've seen seem to indicate it's worldwide and not contained very much by boarders and people groups

03:30:11 mircea_popescu: a worldwide thing in muslim places.

03:30:19 mircea_popescu: from cambodgia to south africa

03:31:59 the20year3: to the US , canada and the UK

03:32:23 mircea_popescu: right.

03:32:45 the20year3: I know in my small town of 10k there was a sex slave ring busted that resulted in 20 girls being released

03:36:05 benkay_: there is a markedt

03:36:10 benkay_: it doth hunger

03:43:12 Vexual: also buzinbg here boss of helicopters, single rotor, attack/tarnsport, dont know keywoprd

03:44:12 Vexual: m10???!?!?!

03:44:17 Vexual: theyre boss

03:44:55 Vexual: shall we dissect the capitol input of my purchases?

03:45:31 Vexual: kinda senseless without a measure of output

03:48:59 Vexual: be vary wary of chairty

03:50:46 peterl: hi everybody

03:50:56 Vexual: its sad that one can' give money to an orphanage in cambodia without a thought

15:12:28 phungus: BitVPS will come through this

15:12:33 phungus: just fine

15:12:34 phungus: :-)

15:12:48 phungus: heck of a deal on our shares now, all things considered

15:13:43 thestringpuller: I've been using a lot of BitVPS lately lolol

15:13:50 thestringpuller: I'm about to buy another instance

15:18:40 pankkake: are there plans for low-priced tiers? i.e. lowendbox stuff

15:19:21 phungus: sure are

15:19:23 phungus: OpenVZ

15:19:24 phungus: :-)

15:19:28 pankkake: hmm… I probably wouldn't use them anyway. I like EU servers with a *lot* of bandwidth

15:19:43 phungus: we have a Switzerland node but it's probably not super high bandwidth

15:19:53 phungus: someday we'll expand into EU a little more

15:20:36 pankkake: I wonder if getting featured on lowendbox is worth it. You're getting a lot of users which might actually ruin you support wise

15:20:58 pankkake: also openvpn is annoying, lack of tun/tap at least

15:22:29 phungus: we can do tun/tap

15:22:32 phungus: on openvz

15:22:35 phungus: you just havwe to ask

15:22:53 phungus: and I don't think we're on lowend box

15:23:01 pankkake: my main use is making my own vpn with dedicated IPv4 and 6, with at least 4 TB of traffic. not very common (by EDIS has the right plans for me) :)

15:23:05 phungus: we try to not advertise too much due to the support load

15:23:16 pankkake: lowendbox is like lower than $7/mo I think

15:23:34 pankkake: I like your SSD offerings though, they seem quite competitive

15:24:38 thestringpuller: pankkake: what business do you run

15:24:41 phungus: those are new for us, actually

15:24:45 phungus: the SSDs

15:24:50 thestringpuller: cookiechief.com is running on bitvps and I have no problem

15:24:52 pankkake: thestringpuller: the pankkake business of doing nothing

15:25:01 thestringpuller: haven't launched fully yet but it runs quick

15:25:06 thestringpuller: for little traffic

15:25:30 phungus: we've had our issues like any hosting company but we're at least trying to be responsive to customers. :-)

15:25:54 pankkake: thestringpuller: I'm a developer/sysadmin, but I am spending a lot of my time seeing doctors right now :/

15:26:03 arij: pankkake, the openvzs start at $5/mo

15:26:05 thestringpuller: phungus: do you think you'll use openstack at some point

15:26:08 arij: those prices are quarterly

15:26:15 pankkake: oooh

15:26:18 pankkake: dumb me

15:26:20 arij: the ssds are monthly

15:26:23 thestringpuller: yea it's like 4 dollars a month

15:26:26 arij: no, everyone thinks they are monthly lol

15:26:28 thestringpuller: for openvz

15:26:29 arij: :(

15:26:32 pankkake: maybe you should state them as per month too

15:26:42 pankkake: even sites that are yearly show the average per month

15:27:11 catssaymeow: nakowa playing on just-dice.com right now

15:27:16 catssaymeow: winning another 5000BTC

15:27:34 Apocalyptic: damn

15:28:47 phungus: thestringpuller: I would love to do Openstack. I work with it at my dayjob a lot. :-)

15:29:04 phungus: it takes significant resources to make a fully viable production environment work though

15:29:08 phungus: and then add in BTC billing...

15:29:22 thestringpuller: Yea I feel you I'm just wondering because I love openstack

15:29:38 thestringpuller: we used redhat vm's but we outscaled that at the CC processor I worked at

15:29:48 thestringpuller: so they were in the process of migrating to openstack for internal vm distribution

15:30:43 pankkake: you don't have to offer all openstack services right away, right? you could do the storage part first, for example

15:30:57 thestringpuller: god Openstack storage is so sexy

15:31:18 phungus: Cinder

15:31:27 phungus: :-)

15:31:41 pankkake: I'm still waiting for the services that will let me store 10 TB without being worth ten times the price of physical drives that I can move myself

15:32:19 phungus: BitVPS would *really* like to have a competitive, and automated, and reliable storage solution

15:32:25 phungus: I want a big honkin NetApp

15:32:31 phungus: or a SAN or something

15:32:36 phungus: $$$ though

15:33:01 phungus: we've been looking

15:33:05 phungus: we're just not there yet

15:33:15 catssaymeow: phungus: you're bitVPS?

15:33:58 catssaymeow: phungus: can you match Cinfu's pricing?

15:35:12 ThickAsThieves: [10:40] <Scrat> jurov: he probably chose to take a few days off at the worst possible time

15:35:12 ThickAsThieves: [10:40] <jurov> yes, like TAT

15:35:23 arij: who namworld?

15:35:24 arij: :/

15:35:25 ThickAsThieves: Yeah I had this trip planned for a while, shitty timing

15:35:44 ThickAsThieves: but I'll be working from the Amsterdam coffee shops too, don't worry

15:36:33 jurov: lol.. with a joint, too?

15:36:36 phungus: catssaymeow: not sure? I've never looked at Cinfu

15:36:51 phungus: catssaymeow: Arij and I are both with BitVPS

15:36:55 ThickAsThieves: Me, do drugs? Never.

15:37:04 pankkake: but hookers are OK

15:37:36 jurov: oh, marijuana is not a drug

15:38:15 catssaymeow: phungus: 4GB/200GB/unlimited data / 4cores / $25 /month -- http://www.cinfu.com/vps/

15:38:52 catssaymeow: phungus: if you can match that i'll use you..

15:40:11 pankkake: or coffee

16:07:13 phungus: pankkake: would be interested to hear what flaws you are talking about in your forum reply (flaws in our contract? or flaws in the BTCT contract?)

16:07:18 phungus: PM me please

16:07:43 pankkake: it's the ones stated by the ltc-global moderators

16:07:54 pankkake: so very public :)

16:08:27 phungus: erm

16:08:28 phungus: hmm

16:08:34 phungus: I don't see how we're connected to ltc-global

16:09:21 pankkake: weird it disappeared. it was the something like "shareholders do not own the company assets"

16:09:34 phungus: oh

16:09:39 phungus: our listing is different

16:09:46 phungus: I don't think shareholders own our assets

16:09:49 phungus: we distribute dividends

16:09:54 phungus: so they are entitled to profits

16:09:56 phungus: that's it

16:10:01 pankkake: yes, that's specifically the issue

16:10:04 pankkake: why wouldn't they?

16:10:07 phungus: umm

16:10:11 phungus: because of the type of security

16:10:30 phungus: investment in our security entitles shareholders to profits

16:10:32 phungus: but not assets

16:10:46 phungus: because we're funding our hardware, etc

16:10:51 phungus: not shareholders

16:11:01 phungus: I think

16:11:06 pankkake: I see

16:15:01 pankkake: I removed my comment, but perhaps it should be clarified

16:15:29 phungus: cool, I will see about getting that clarification in but I'm pretty sure it's on BTCT already

16:15:49 phungus: REVENUE SHARE: BITVPS

16:15:50 phungus: yep

16:15:59 phungus: Revenue Share is just that

16:16:02 phungus: a share of revenues

16:16:03 phungus: :-)

16:16:07 phungus: so, dividends

16:32:42 Rulother: So labcoin just paid divs

16:32:51 Rulother: (small) I know

16:35:24 pankkake: expensive PMB

16:42:22 Doctor_Andonuts: Besides messaging burnside on bitcointalk, is there any other way to get in contact with him? I know he is really busy with all the stuff going on right now =(

16:47:52 jborkl: no, that is the best way I have found

16:48:19 jborkl: he normally does not respond until about 5 hours from now

16:48:23 thestringpuller: !ticker btctc LABCOIN

16:48:36 thestringpuller: lol

16:48:49 thestringpuller: that descended quickly....

16:54:48 Rulother: ?

17:09:34 gabridome: hi there

17:10:18 gabridome: it's a long time I don't write and I have a little question to pose

17:23:41 gabridome: I've tried to crawl the forums but still I have one doubt on satoshi dice stocks

17:24:52 gabridome: I'm a little ashamed to ask but could someone please tell me what can I do with my stocks on my account?

17:25:15 gabridome: my satoshi dice stocks I mean

17:27:30 kakobrekla: on what account is that gabridome

17:27:40 kakobrekla: SD is no longer publically traded or listed

17:28:31 gabridome: yeah, I know I have received dividends but I have still stocks in my apex account

17:28:49 kakobrekla: it will go away after some time

17:28:55 gabridome: in my apex account I meamn

17:29:10 kakobrekla: nothing to do with it

17:29:32 gabridome: sorry in my mpex account (problems wit autocorrection)

17:29:47 kakobrekla: yeah

17:29:52 kakobrekla: it will go away after time

17:29:58 kakobrekla: just ignore it

17:30:42 gabridome: thank you for your answer kakobrekla

17:31:00 kakobrekla: welcome

17:32:05 gabridome: Probably it has been answered a lot of time but I was away and I wanted to be sure :)

17:59:54 pankkake: "They are already paying a higher dividend than Active Mining. This is amazing." I loled

18:00:16 kakobrekla: right on time

18:00:21 kakobrekla: amazing

18:01:33 pankkake: that wasn't timed, I ignore assbot (just checked http://log.bitcoin-assets.com/)

18:02:40 pankkake: though it's less spammy these days

18:02:49 kakobrekla: try it out

18:09:08 mircea_popescu: lmao

18:09:18 mircea_popescu: these fucktards and their "dividends".

18:09:23 dexX7: lol

18:09:26 dexX7: amazing company

18:09:42 mircea_popescu: a venture without income may not pay dividends. it's like speaking of a bull's milk.

18:10:23 kakobrekla: well since men can lactate, im sure some bull somewhere can too

18:10:43 mircea_popescu: jesus now we got cow gender issues ?

18:10:49 dexX7: the div payment was more about being a positive sign that they didn't miss a deadline again

18:10:50 mircea_popescu: i gotta pick better analogies

18:11:20 mircea_popescu: lmao. deadline of "we will pay you 0.74% of what you send in two months hence" is not a deadline, either.

18:11:44 mircea_popescu: deadlines must be things that are not wholly within the operator's control. making a statement is also not a deadline.

18:13:24 pankkake: actually they have a proof for their income now

18:13:27 dexX7: it's funny. they announced 6 th/s but created so much drama that people went nuts, when they started to mine with 800 gh/s two weeks later

18:13:38 pankkake: it could very well be a few avalons

18:13:45 pankkake: but they have real income

18:14:55 mircea_popescu: what's the alleged float ? i forget.

18:15:35 dexX7: ;;calc 0.00139 * 10000000

18:15:44 topace: HIM is now at ~1.2TH

18:15:58 topace: and we didnt make a big deal out of it like some of these other mining ops

18:17:02 pankkake: a lot of other mining funds too - they are bigger than labcoin and activemining combined

18:17:09 dexX7: labcoin is a daytraders dream due to the high volatility and large trading volume, the price etc. is not really based on fundamentals at the moment

18:17:17 pankkake: maybe nastyfans isn't but that's it

18:21:17 mircea_popescu: dexX7 no, that's not a daytrader. that's an noobtrader.

18:21:29 mircea_popescu: daytraders trade actual companies. these differences are important.

18:21:46 dexX7: well, in that sense i am indeed a noob, so it's fine

18:22:09 KRS1: noobs are secksy

18:23:24 mircea_popescu: this constant temptation to substitute things for cheaper, easier, faster pseudothings is like our contemporary cancer.

18:24:20 dexX7: so what do you suggest as cure?

18:24:37 mircea_popescu: im not that advanced.

18:25:01 pankkake: why cure it? why not exploit it? :)

18:25:07 mircea_popescu: but it seems to me the false idea that "we're all equal" is at the root of the problem. obviously in reality we aren't. but the pressure of confirming this ideology makes people hurt themselves.

18:25:11 jurov: death is ultimate cure

18:25:13 dexX7: because it's not sustainable, pan

18:25:20 mircea_popescu: like the guys living in houses they can't afford to match all the other "equal" guys who also.

18:25:39 pankkake: if it was a lot less work I'd start a "scams allowed" exchange

18:25:40 mircea_popescu: so thus, i roil against equality, especially as contemporarily misunderstood.

18:25:43 mircea_popescu: doesn't seem much of a cure.

18:26:05 pankkake: everything goes - issuers can issue new shares, there are no contracts

18:26:26 mircea_popescu: because why ?

18:26:53 pankkake: why not?

18:27:56 mircea_popescu: so why don't you get gender reassignment surgery then

18:28:10 pankkake: to add to the fun, the exchange operator would be anonymous, and thus, could decide to close down anytime and take all the money

18:28:32 pankkake: too expensive and painful. otherwise I'd do it

18:28:36 pankkake: though I like my penis

18:29:40 jurov: butbutbut we will have colored coins and they will solve all these problems.. oh nevermind

18:29:51 mircea_popescu: lol

18:29:56 mircea_popescu: jurov he's new.

19:56:23 kakobrekla: dooglus is no longer on this chan eh

19:56:27 benkay_: seems like nobody's auditing these "provably fair" operators

19:56:45 benkay_: assuming this is one of those

19:56:56 mircea_popescu: it is one of those yeah.

19:57:05 mircea_popescu: i think you can audit it yourself

19:57:11 benkay_: i don't care

19:57:17 benkay_: more than happy to provide services though

19:57:24 mircea_popescu: in fact, a blog dedicated to random-weekly audits of provably fair betting sites would be interesting

19:57:51 benkay_: if only there were some profit to be had in doing that

19:58:13 benkay_: i suppose that if i uncovered malfeasance during the process i could place a bitbet

19:58:38 benkay_: but i don't tend to gamble with my working time, i prefer to sell those hours.

19:59:04 benkay_: unestimatable upside

19:59:09 benkay_: quantifiable downside

19:59:27 benkay_: vs known upside and extremely low risk

19:59:33 benkay_: takers? takers?
